This is the final book in my series of blog compilations (at least until I write some more stuff). It’s a book of divination principles and practices (including basic and advanced techniques, tactics, strategies and resources) for the tarot reader who intends to work publicly with the Waite-Smith deck or one of its numerous “clones.” Although it presents certain introductory topics, it isn’t a “beginner’s” book but rather one for those with some prior exposure to the metaphysical ideas behind the cards who want to apply that knowledge to the art of professional tarot reading. Like my previous books, it is a collection of essays written over the last five years. It spans 108 lightly-illustrated pages and over 55,000 words. The following subject areas are covered at length: The Art of Tarot Reading; The Client Interface; Reading Techniques; Spread Considerations; The Waite-Smith Tarot; Yes-or-No Questions; Reversals and Tarot Timing. It is liberally sprinkled with personal anecdotes and examples from my 50 years of experience as a reader. A few of these essays appeared previously in The Cartomancer and the ATA periodicals.
