Architecture of the Grand Tableau
AUTHOR’S NOTE: It goes without saying that interpreting the Lenormand Grand Tableau is an “iterative” process in which the 36-card layout is reduced to manageable proportions via a variety of interconnected techniques focused around a central card that represents either the querent or the theme of the reading: the internal 9-card “box” in all of its permutations (rows, columns, diagonals, corners, cross, knighting); the Method of Distance (“Near/Far”) to “get outside the box;” knighting; mirroring; intersection; a range of “house” correlations if one chooses to use them. Here is a set of graphic presentations that breaks down this architecture into its component parts. I don’t use the GT houses to any great extent so I didn’t include them. (These are the primary methods that I use in my own readings; you may have others.)
