2024 Presidential Election Recap: The Power of Horary
AUTHOR’S NOTE: I had new content prepared for today, but decided to revisit my October 9th “Astro-Tarotscope” reading in response to the projected outcome of the 2024 Presidential election.
I’ve linked the reading below for those interested, but my closing comment in the original analysis is worth highlighting:
“While I admit to not being much of a Trump lover, either as a person or as a politician (he lacks the humanity for one and the professional poise for the other), I am a big fan of horary astrology and it appears that the astrological factors for November 5th like Trump quite a bit.”
A horary event chart is basically a transit chart, and it can be used in the same way. The favorable links between the Greater and Lesser Benefics (10th-House Jupiter and 4th-House Venus) and Leo Ascendant of the horary chart and Trump’s natal Sun, Moon and Ascendant were nothing short of remarkable. In retrospect, for Harris the horary 7th-House Pluto T-square to her natal Sun and Moon in Cardinal signs appeared to be the most telling aspect. On the morning of November 5th I told someone online that, from this factor alone, it looked like her power base would not produce for her as anticipated. I also mentioned that I’ve come to have more faith in horary event prediction than in tarot reading, although in this case they dovetailed neatly. Earlier tarot readings alone were inconclusive, but all of them gave Harris a slight edge as I read them.
As a conscientious diviner I have to take an impartial stance regarding the results and just focus on the validity of the prediction. (For the record, I tend to dislike and distrust politicians at the national level as a class of well-heeled, power-hungry freeloaders.) I’m glad its over and the ad hominem attacks on both sides of the campaign are at an end (and the annoying litter of campaign signage goes away), at least until the traumatized news outlets gather their wits to mount a new assault on Trump.
As far as the next four years, we can only hope he learned something from his first term, keeping his big mouth shut and letting his acts (whatever they turn out to be) stand or fall on their own merit. It’s a sad footnote to our current political climate that he had a Congressional majority throughout the first half of that term but made very little progress even on the less-controversial facets of his agenda because his ill-advised rhetoric scared Republicans into fearing for their own political future if they supported him. (He took aim at the “swamp” — which included many in his own party — but instead turned out to be the “Creature from the Black Lagoon,” a pariah himself.) He appears to be making all the right conciliatory noises at the moment but he has been notoriously unpredictable in the past. As an observer with very little stake in Washington back-biting (just as long as they keep their mitts off Social Security and Medicare), I’ll be watching with interest to see where this goes.
In the meantime, I will be casting around for more opportunities to apply horary astrology to world events.
