2024 Presidential Election: An Astro-Tarotscope Forecast
AUTHOR’S NOTE: Regardless of what you think of Donald Trump (and even though I’m far from liberal in my own political views, I don’t have much us for him), the Gods of Prognostication seem to prefer him on November 5th. Of all the readings I’ve done on the upcoming election, this one is the most clear-cut and sharply-focused (it is also most likely my last attempt).
As promised, here is my mixed-media “astro-taroscope” reading for the 2024 US Presidential Election. It involves a horary astrology “event” chart cast for the last minute of the day on November 5th, by which time the election will ideally have been decided. The tarot cards were drawn randomly and then “tagged” to the horoscope according to the decans they occupy in the Chaldean wheel of correspondences formulated by the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. The court and trump cards aligned with those decans were then added to the layout.
Analysis:
Although they are hard to spot in this photo (see below for a better version), there are many features in the event chart that favor Donald Trump. But first things first: what jumps out at me is that Uranus — the planet of sweeping and often radical change — is the most elevated planet in the horoscope. This could mean one of two things: either there will be a dramatic shift in Washington that purges the old and ushers in the new (although with Uranus retrograde the “new” might just be a “retread”); or that Kamala Harris will be the first female president. Looking at the rest of the chart, I don’t see the latter happening, particularly since Trump’s natal Midheaven at 24 Taurus 19 is conjunct horary Uranus, suggesting a “date with destiny.”
Back to Trump. Most significantly, event-chart Jupiter — the Greater Benefic — is conjunct his natal Sun in the horary 10th House of social recognition, and event-chart Venus — the Lesser Benefic — is conjunct his natal Moon in the horary 4th House of “deep roots.” (However, Jupiter is retrograde, taking a little of the bounce out of this show of confidence.) The 4th House-10th House axis represents “emerging into the world” that — with both horary “benefics” and Trump’s natal Sun and Moon involved — could be indicating a resurgence of the Trump White House on the strength of the “homeland” vote. The Ascendant at 22 Leo 32 is a close match for Trump’s natal Ascendant at 29 Leo 56 (although traditional astrologers would argue that he actually has Virgo rising due to the “five-degree rule”). For the purpose of this analysis I will stick with Leo. This becomes important when we consider the tarot pull.
By way of contrast, Harris’ natal Sun-Moon opposition occurs between Libra and Aries, with no conjunctions to event-chart planets or angles. There are few important horary aspects to the pair other than the trine between her elevated natal Moon in Aries and the Leo horary Ascendant (which at least gives her some favorable visibility); the sextile between her natal Sun and the event-chart Ascendant; the sextile/trine pattern between horary Venus and her natal Sun and Moon respectively; and a much tighter T-square from horary Pluto to those same natal planets, a “seismic upset” implication that does not bode well. A point of interest is that her natal Ascendant falls close to event-chart Jupiter, bringing more popular approbation, but Trump’s empowered natal Sun intervenes between them and takes some of the “wind out of its sails.” Setting aside the potent Sun/Moon/Ascendant showing of Trump, this might have been enough to propel her to victory, but I don’t like that Pluto/Sun/Moon Cardinal T-square in the Cadent houses, which suggests “backlash.” (Cadent literally means “falling” or “decline,” and some ancient Greek astrologers considered it to signify separations and banishments, so the T-square might translate as “repudiation.”) For the record, traditional astrology holds that locations in space (Ascendant, Midheaven, Part of Fortune, points of ingress and egress — aka “cusps” — don’t initiate aspects, only receive them, so I don’t see a functioning Grand Trine here.
The tarot cards strongly emphasize the 1st and 4th Houses, where Trump has an astrological edge. The 8 of Disks (Sun in Virgo; Prudence) sits just across the cusp in the 1st House of self-promotion and the 9 of Disks (Venus in Virgo; Gain) is in the 2nd House of personal resources. The Knight of Disks (RWS King of Pentacles) is the associated court card, and this triumvirate suggests the backing of “Big Money.” The Hermit is the related trump card, alluding to the fact that “there can be only one.”
The 9 of Wands (Moon in Sagittarius; Strength) is in the 4th House and just barely misses being in the same decan as Trump’s natal Moon in Sagittarius; I would be inclined to see this as highly significant for Trump’s robust popularity in the “heartland” of the country. The associated court card is the Knight (RWS King) of Wands, which plays right into this dynamic. Art (RWS Temperance) is the corresponding trump card, and it argues for a little finesse in his approach, but is it likely Trump will listen this time around?
The 5 of Disks (Mercury in Taurus; Worry) is in the 9th House where Harris’ natal Moon resides, creating some anxiety although it isn’t in the same sign as her Moon. The Prince of Disks as the related court card implies an inexperienced campaign staff, while the Hierophant as the relevant trump card makes me think that the Establishment is hedging their bets about her. She may be holding onto the moral high ground compared to Trump’s legal travails but could fall short of expectations at the polls.
The 6 of Wands (Jupiter in Leo; Victory) and the 7 of Wands (Mars in Leo; Valour) are in the 1st House, straddling the 2nd and 3rd decans. This gives a powerful boost to the event chart’s Leo Ascendant, and by extension to Trump’s natal Ascendant that shadows the horary structure. The court card of record for the 6 of Wands is the Prince of Wands (this could be JD Vance in the background), which seems to be pumping fresh energy and enthusiasm into the effort, while for the 7 of Wands it is the previously-described Knight of Disks that “bridges” the signs and offers the motivation of corporate “deep pockets.” The pertinent trump card is Lust (RWS Strength), conveying the same sense of diligently applied force with plenty in reserve.
The 7 of Disks (Saturn in Taurus; Failure) is in the 10th House of public ambitions but it is affecting neither Trump nor Harris by sign, which could simply mean that “somebody has to lose,” and the prospect of losing looms large for all involved. The Hierophant is still on-board, making me think it could be representing the Constitutional role of the Electoral College. The only “wild card” here is the Knight of Swords, which could be showing a last-minute “chess move” that changes the momentum of one candidate or the other for the better. The Knight of Swords also energizes event-chart Jupiter and Trump’s natal Sun in Gemini (although it’s in the middle of a hand-off to the Queen of Cups), so the nod could go his way. On balance, Harris’ natal Ascendant could get a bump from this transition to the Queen of Cups but it would be marginal.
Summary:
While I admit to not being much of a Trump lover, either as a person or as a politician (he lacks the humanity for one and the professional poise for the other), I am a big fan of horary astrology and it appears that the astrological factors for November 5th like Trump quite a bit. The strong ties between the event-chart Jupiter in the 10th House of public service (I laugh aloud thinking of any politician in that light) and his natal Sun; the event-chart Venus in the 4th House and his natal Moon; and the correlation between the event-chart Ascendant and his natal Ascendant are all hard to refute. Both “benefics” aligned in this way provide a powerful impetus for success. Although I didn’t do so for this effort since the Sun, Moon and Ascendant are the fundamental “building blocks” of the personality, it would be worth looking at the less prominent features of both natal horoscopes for any valuable sidelights against the backdrop of the event chart.
